June APA/ASLA Networking Event
June 5 @ 7:15 am - 8:30 am
Every single day there are traffic crashes on our roadways. While the majority of these crashes result in only minor injuries and/or property damage, others result in serious injuries and fatalities. The City of Tempe is the first city in the State of Arizona to embrace Vision Zero. Vision Zero is a transportation safety strategy that has a goal of eliminating fatal and serious injury crashes. Vision Zero strategies recognize that all crashes can’t be eliminated, but when crashes do occur, the severity can be reduced. City staff will educate attendees about Vision Zero and explain Tempe’s path to Vision Zero.
Julian Dresang, PE, PTOE serves the City of Tempe as the City Traffic Engineer where he is actively involved in all aspects of the City’s transportation system. He is passionate about safety and appreciates the importance of a balanced multimodal network that meets the needs of all users. His interest in Transportation Engineering began at the University of Arizona where he graduated with a bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, which was later followed by a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Arizona State University. He has served the MAG region as the Chair of the Transportation Safety Committee and has held multiple leadership positions with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
Join us for our last networking event before we take a break for summer. Come September we’ll resume so keep your eyes open for the fall invites. We encourage you to share this invite or bring a colleague for networking and a chance to hear more about building stronger urban ideas.
